Pritt Kalsi

I met up with Birmingham-based artist Pritt Kalsi for an evening shoot around Digbeth.

Pritt is a filmmaker, photographer, graffiti artist, producer and co-founder of King of the Beats Records. He wanted a fresh set of images for his blog, with something that felt connected to both his work and the city around him.

Digbeth felt like the obvious choice. The textures, colours and energy of the area worked perfectly as a backdrop and reflected the creative side of Birmingham that has shaped so much of his work.

This was a shorter, more focused session built around one clear direction. We kept things relaxed and well planned, moving through a few nearby spots, mixing portraits with natural in-between moments and detail shots along the way.

By the end of the evening, Pritt had a strong set of images ready to use across his blog and social media, all with a natural, cinematic feel that suited both him and his work.
